black sand

This is my sanctuary. Where I've been writing and world-building fictional projects forover a year now. Nestled along the Murray River located in regional Victoria, Australia.

Back when I was a little one at school, I quickly learned the playground was a dangerous place. Classmates excluded me, elbowed me off the monkey bars for being “too hyper,” or threatened me to shut up or else. After enough of that, I developed selective mutism and spent recess hiding in the library or computer lab, avoiding who I saw as “normal kids.”

After school, I was usually at the family computer exploring the strange early world of the internet, or in my bedroom trying to escape my parents’ latest screaming match. My bedroom became my refuge for over two decades. My books, music, movies, video games, and television built my imagination. I shaped my aspirations and creativity, dreaming up a more beautiful and moral world than the one outside my door.

Today I don’t hide in my bedroom anymore. It’s simply a place to wind down and sleep. But I’m still a creature of habit. And having my own home studio for writing and exploring my imagination is where my music and stories come to life.

Welcome to my creative studio.

Inspiration

I've made about 100 or so playlists to set the mood and inspire my writing. These are just a few that keep me going.
